Goldenkit was the last of her litter to be born one cold leafbare and didn't open her eyes until the next day. Even as a newborn, she showed Clan loyalty and quickly became her father's favorite kit. She would often follow after her father and copy everything he did, earning herself the nickname, "Copycat", from her siblings who were jealous of her.
Two moons later, the EarthClan camp was raided by another Clan and her father was killed in the battle,defending Goldenkit and the nursery. His dying words were,"Be the best you can be Goldenkit and one day you will be like a ray of sunlight, shining down on us all.Stay loyal to your Clan even at the cost of your life." Goldenkit promised him that she would as he died in front of her.
When Goldenkit reached six moons, she sneaked out of camp before her apprentice ceremony and got snatched up by a Twoleg kit. The Twoleg took her into its den and never let her go out. She was forced to wear a collar with a bell. Soon, she met a tom named Fuzzy who began calling her Sunny and lived in the same nest. He became her friend and told her of his past life, being a loner and a friend of a Clan cat named Leopardtail, Sunny's mother.
A half moon later, the Twoleg left the nest entrance open and Sunny made her escape, returning to the same forest that she had been taken from. Wandering through the trees and hoping to find her way back to her Clan, Sunny was attacked by her brother Rockpaw, who didn't recognize her at first. After a vicious fight in which Sunny's collar snapped off her neck, Rockpaw realized who she was and called her by her true name, Goldenkit. Stonetail,her father's best friend, Leopardtail and two other cats came out of the trees to see the comotion and took her back home.
Upon returning to camp, the leader gave her an apprentice ceremony right away. Goldenpaw was given Stonetail as a mentor. Stonetail began teaching her fighting techniques at first but Goldenpaw wasn't a quick learner to fighting moves. Stonetail merely sighed and taught her how to hunt which she excelled at.
Two moons later, Goldenpaw was an excellent fisher and amateur land prey hunter. Her mentor suggested she become a medicine cat if she refused to get better at fighting, stating that she "wouldn't survive an attack" and "couldn't fight her way out of a nursery." Feeling betrayed and angry for disappointing her mentor, Goldenpaw trained harder than ever at fighting. She trained under the cover of night with her brother and sisters, Blackpaw, Shadowpaw and Yellowpaw. Soon she was able to take her mentor in a fight, which impressed the warrior.
When she was eleven moons of age, a neighboring Clan was raided by the same Clan that raided EarthClan so many moons ago. Goldenpaw and her siblings were among the chosen cats going to assist the Clan. When they reached the bloodstained clearing of fighting cats, Goldenpaw picked out the leader at once and dashed off to get the she-cat away from the nursery, just as her father had done. Clawing the leader and tossing her aside, Goldenpaw hissed and defended the helpless kits inside. Accidentally making the leader lose a life, the attacking Clan fled. The clearing was filled with the bodies of dead cats, Leopardtail among the near dead. Running to her mother's side, the former queen said, "Goldenpaw, you fought brightly. Like the sun's light. Don't ever lose sight of what you care about. The Clan is lucky to have such a loyal warrior who would fight to defend the helpless and the weak." Her mother coughed and died. Heartbroken, Goldenpaw wailed until the leader of the raided Clan spoke to her, "Thank you young warrior. Your Golden Sunlight saved us all. I send my thanks to your leader."
Goldenpaw and the patrol returned home and the EarthClan leader gave Goldenpaw her warrior name, Goldensun, in honor of her bravery and the other leader's words. He also gave Rockpaw and the others their warrior names as well.
Four moons later, at the age of fifteen moons for Goldensun, EarthClan was again raided by the same Clan. In the fighting, Goldensun watched her brothers Rockpelt and Blackfur, and her sister, Yellowsun, be murdered in front of her. Stonetail had just rushed over to her as one of the only warriors left and told her to take Shadowpelt and run. He died shortly after Goldensun and Shadowpelt fled as the only survivors of the doomed EarthClan.
When Goldensun reached eighteen moons, Shadowpelt and Goldensun had lived together as loners yet still obeying the warrior code. A moon later, Shadowpelt bid her sister farewell as she found a new Clan by the lake she wanted to join. Goldensun watched her sister leave, feeling upset over the decision to seperate. She respected her sister's choice and let her go.
At twenty moons, Goldensun met Dawnstar and joined RiverClan as a warrior. She hasn't forgotten what she's been through or her training and still has fighting skills but it isn't as great as her fishing ability. Soon after joining, she was given her first apprentice, Luckypaw.
